  • One of the lessons the global health community learned

    2019-06-01

One of the lessons the global health ccr5 antagonist learned from its experience with HIV was the need to rapidly identify individuals who are eligible for treatment. Yet HCV is severely underdiagnosed (<1% of the infected population in limited resource settings). Diagnostic tests are complex and expensive, and can only be performed at centralised laboratories, which are few and far between in low-resource settings; some of the available tests (eg, rapid tests) for HCV detection are of poor or unknown quality.
Lancet Glob Health —The following sentence should have read “Alarmingly, almost half of both for children younger than 5 years in Afghanistan are Nuclear pores severe (minus three SDs from reference population).” This correction has been made as of February 24, 2015.
Lancet Glob Health —In the Summary, the funding source should have been “Anesvad Foundation and IOM Development Fund”. Furthermore, the Acknowledgments section should have read “This study was funded by Anesvad Foundation and IOM Development Fund, with additional support from the Economic and Social Research Council, UK”. This correction has been made as of Feb 24, 2015.
